The social cost associated with disadvantaged young single mothers is staggering. Year by year, the costs grow.
We can change this. We can act to help these young mothers find a new sense of self-worth and self-esteem. We can help them identify paths to enter the economic mainstream. We can help them become net givers, instead of net takers. We can help they do the parenting job they want to do, to have their children succeed.
You can imagine the value of disadvantaged young single mothers achieving solid education, good jobs, and strong parenting. Fresh Start Science designed a totally new approach to meet this challenge. It takes advantage of recent advances in genetic science and technology to help each young mother build a powerful sense of self-esteem and self-worth. This provides the motivation to go back to school, be a reliable employee, and focus on raising her children to be successful.
Every person's genes lay down the basic blueprint for her/his natural talents, strengths and weaknesses. Each person's blueprint is then impacted by her/his environment and the she/he lives to produce her/his identify today. Understanding how our genes and environment interact to shape our normal lives is the new science of wellness genetics.
For the first time in history, it is possible to identify the DNA inputs. This opens the door to each young mother to reshape how she sees herself and her child. She can view life through the lens of potential and achievment.
It's time to act. Over a million unmarried 15 - 24 year olds had children last year. For too many, this creates huge life obstacles.
